This was inspired by, of all things, a job advert in one of the computing trade magazines. Having made the jigsaw pieces, I couldn't really decide what to do with the picture, so I left it for a while (nearly a year, in fact). I originally wanted to have a person in this picture, pondering the puzzle, but when I came back to it, I felt it worked without one. The other elements are there mainly to fill in the background, which would otherwise be rather boring ;-)
