Village Hall, Shenley Road, Borehamwood
Saturday 23 June 2001, 10:00 to 16:00
On a sweltering Saturday in June, we converted Borehamwood's
Village Hall into a forty-seat cinema to stage a free showing
of videos of the town's Civic Festival.
We made these videos for the town council, and our show covered
years from 1964 to 2000.
We also put on a display of cine and video equipment.
The event coincided with the parade that is the Festival's
traditional opening.
Despite the hot weather, we had a very good attendance, and the
hall was often full.
The show gave us a lot of good publicity, and we acquired two new
members as a result.
Everybody in the club worked very hard to make the show such a success.
The town council paid for the hire of the hall, and the hire of a large
back-projection screen.
