This page shows you what we did in 2001. Events were on Monday evenings unless noted otherwise.


1 January 2001

No meeting

8 January

Annual General Meeting, including election of committee for 2001.

15 January

Film of the Year 2000 We choose the best film made by our members in 2000. This competition is open to any film that was placed first or second in any club competition in 2000.

Winners:

  1. Around the World in Four Days by Peter Norman. A record of a holiday in Las Vegas, focusing on its hotels, each themed on an area of the world.
  2. Where God Paints the Scenery by Peter Norman. A journey through the spectacular surroundings of Yosemite National Park.
  3. The Tower by Dennis Edwards. A journey to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

5 February

Advice evening. Advice will be dispensed by our experts. Bring your problem equipment (and the manual!) or video.

12 February

Five Minute Open Competition Make a video, about any subject, that last no more than five minutes. We will also show members' videos this evening.

19 February

Auction evening. Not just video equipment, but any items may be brought in for auction. 10% commission will be taken for Club funds.

26 February

Going Digital. Buying a camera? Impartial advice on the pros and cons of digital camcorders.


5 March

Visit from Michael Slowe of Finchley Cinevideo Society, showing his 16mm films and digital videos.

12 March

Experimental/Abstract Competition An opportunity to do something weird, thought-provoking or just different! Also Members' Videos.

19 March

Titling Evening. How to make good titles, and what equipment is available. Some of our members will also visit Harrow Cine and Video Society this evening to show some of our videos.

"Novices" Open Competition Open to anyone who has not won first prize in a BCC competition in the last year. Also Members' Videos.
