This page shows you what we're planning for the next few months. Events are on Monday evenings unless noted otherwise. See this page for details of where we meet.

Except where noted otherwise, there is a time limit of 15 minutes on all competition entries.

Joe Kay Trophy Competition Borehamwood versus Harrow Cine and Video Society, at Borehamwood.

31 January

Film of the Year 2004 We choose the best film made by our members in 2004. This competition is open to any film that was placed first, second or third in any club competition in 2004. The judges, Stanley Russell, John Eakins and Steve Pemberton, deliberated over ten excellent videos before selecting The Loro Parque by Barbara and Peter Norman as the winner. Open Competition Make a video, about any subject, that lasts no more than one minute.
The winner was The Big Bang, by Peter and Barbara Norman.

25 April

Programme from Chichester Film and Video Makers We have agreed to judge Chichester's annual competition this year, and they have sent us a tape of their entries. (We will not be judging the entries on this evening; three of our members will be doing that in their own homes. This evening is just some entertainment for the rest of us.)

The winner was Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen, by Barbara and Peter Norman.

The club is closed during July and August, giving you more time to take advantage of the good weather to shoot lots of video.

Documentary Competition for the Dennis Edwards Shield Make a documentary, about any subject, that lasts no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was The Rally, by Peter and Barbara Norman.

Night shot and low light We investigate these little-used features of our camcorders

26 September

Themed Competition Make a video that prominently features the given theme and lasts no more than 10 minutes. This year's theme is water.
The winner was Contrasts, by Roy Osgood.

Holiday Competition for the Bert Dewdney Shield Make a video about your holiday, lasting no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was Into the Badlands, by Mick Murphy.

24 October

Green screen evening If you fancy a visit to an exotic or imaginary location without the cost and effort of taking a film crew there (or you just want to try your hand at presenting the weather), Jane Sadler will show you how. See some photographs from this evening here.
