This page shows you what we're planning for the next few months. Events are on Monday evenings unless noted otherwise. See this page for details of where we meet.

Except where noted otherwise, there is a time limit of 15 minutes on all competition entries.

Events may be altered or postponed at short notice. Please check this page again a few days before any event that you plan to attend.

Annual General Meeting including election of committee for 2009.

19 January 2009

Joe Kay Trophy Competition Borehamwood versus Harrow Cine and Video Society, at Borehamwood. Harrow won, for the first time in four years. Photo of our chairman presenting the trophy to their chairman.

No meeting Cancelled because of the heavy snow. Sorry for the short notice.

16 February

Discuss and plan programme for 2009. Also members' videos - preferably ones we haven't seen before.

2 March

Advice Evening We hope to resolve your video problems.

16 March

Five-minute Open Competition Make a video, about any subject, that lasts no more than five minutes. Afterwards, we will brainstorm ideas for club videos.

6 April

Beginners' Evening Bring your camcorder, so that others can see its good and bad points.

Ealing Video and Film Makers show us a selection of their videos.

Plan club video(s)

Documentary Competition for the Dennis Edwards Trophy Make a documentary, about any subject, that lasts no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was The English Country Garden, by Peter and Barbara Norman.

29 June

Open Evening as part of the town's Civic Festival

Summer Break

The club is closed during July and August, giving you more time to take advantage of the good weather to shoot lots of video.


7 September

Holiday Competition for the Bert Dewdney Trophy Make a video about your holiday that lasts no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was Calgary Zip, by Godfrey Dyan.

21 September

Camerawork Forum

5 October

Open Competition Make a video, about any subject, that lasts no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was Getting Up Early, by Mick Murphy.

19 October

Sound Forum

2 November

Selection of our entries for HACCA and Joe Kay.

16 November

Editing Forum

Saturday 28 November

HACCA Competition at 2:30pm in Hemel Hempstead. (Note that this event has moved from its original date of 21 November.)

30 November

Film of the Year 2009 We select the best video made by our members this year.
Please note - this event has moved from the original date of 7 December.
Paul Welsh MBE judged the competition for us and selected Getting Up Early, by Mick Murphy, as the winner.
