This page shows you what we're planning for the next few months. Events are on Monday evenings unless noted otherwise. See this page for details of where we meet.

Except where noted otherwise, there is a time limit of 15 minutes on all competition entries.

Events may be altered or postponed at short notice. Please check this page again a few days before any event that you plan to attend.

Joe Kay Trophy Competition Borehamwood versus Harrow Cine and Video Society, at Harrow. Harrow won, by a narrow margin.

What's in a Name? rehearsal and planning for this club production. (This film was previously known as Anniversary Rose. We changed the name to avoid confusion with Anniversary, a different club production.)

Film Show from Peter and Barbara Norman Peter and Barbara are moving away from the area, and look back on their favourites of all the films they've made over the years.

Anniversary scene exercise filming and planning of summer activities.

7 June

Documentary Competition for the Dennis Edwards Shield. Make a documentary about any subject that lasts no more than 15 minutes.

21 June

Open Evening as part of the town's Civic Festival (TBC)

Summer Break

The club is closed during July and August, giving you more time to take advantage of the good weather to shoot lots of video. We also intend to film our club productions during this time.


6 September

Open Competition Make a video about any subject that lasts no more than 15 minutes.
The winner was Psycho, by Godfrey Dyan.

20 September

Anniversary Scene Exercise Results and Themed Competition (incorporating One Minute, Five Minute, Abstract, Set Theme and Long-Form Films)
The winner was The Last Story, by Steve Pemberton.

4 October

Finchley Film Makers visit us to show some of their films.

18 October

Holiday Competition for the Bert Dewdney Shield. Make a video about a holiday that lasts no more than 15 minutes. We will also select our entries for the HACCA and Joe Kay competitions.

1 November

Workshop and Showing of Completed Club Films

Saturday 13 November

HACCA Competition at Potters Bar. Unintended Consequences, directed by Paul Welton, came second.

15 November

Discussion of Club Films for 2011

29 November

Film of the Year 2010 We select the best video made by our members this year.
The results were:
1st The Last Story by Steve Pemberton.
2nd Open Day at RAF Halton by Paul Welton.
3rd Godfrey's Psycho by Godfrey Dyan.

6 December

Christmas Party All friends and family are welcome. Please advise a committee member beforehand of any additional guests so we know numbers. (Moved from previous date of 13 December because of BBC Band concert at Allum Hall on that date.)
